Diet and bland are not synonomous

Nutrition

Bland food that tastes like cardboard is a thing of the past. At WikFitness we love to eat as much as the next guy. The difference is, we just eat smarter. The images below show some of the great ways we've been able to eat delicious food and not starve to enjoy it. Eating the right foods prepared the right way, allows you to eat as much as you need to without having to workout just to eat what you want.

Seasoning

Don't be afraid to season your food. Seasonings don't significantly contribute to your calorie count, so be generous.

Cooking

Grilling your food on an open flame is a great way to add extra flavor to your meats. There's nothing like the kiss of a flame to enhance any protein or vegetable.

Vegetables are another excellent enhancement to any meal. Vegetables are pretty much free, too. They add almost no calories to any meal. The problem usually comes in from salad dressings and other toppings. Spritzing with lemon and lime juice is all you need.

Proteins

PORK, the other white meat. Yep, that's right. You can even have pork. Hold on though, not just any pork. It has to be the lean variety like loins. Slow cooking a loin in the oven or crock pot and you have a real contender.

Carbs

We've all heard it before, there's good carbs and there's bad carbs. Oatmeal is probably one of the best good carbs. Not only is it a whole oat, but it is excellent for the heart. Making a smoothie with oatmeal, a banana, almond milk, and a scoop of protein powder and you've got a real breakfast of champions.

Fats

Oh my...heaven in a bowl!! Who doesn't love guacamole?! Yes, it's on the menu. Keep in mind though, it's still fat. You can't have the whole bowl by yourself. Guacamole is great because you have healthy fats along with healthy vegetables. One last thing. You'll have to eat it with your fajita chicken and vegies because you can't have the tortilla chips or tortillas - sorry.
